Tuomas Kurittu

CEO, Co-founder

Tuomas is an Master of Business Administration from Aalto Yliopisto (class of 1978) and has been an entrepreneur since 1982.

Tuomas founded one of the first self storage companies on Europe in 1993 and built it into a thriving business with eight locations. After selling the company to Pelican Self Storage, Tuomas together with his wife Maritel started Koti-Medi Oy in 2007 to fullfill Maritel’s lifelong dream of running a home-care company with a patient-first vision.

Tuomas has been a co-owner and CEO of Koti-Medi since 2010. Under his leadership Koti-Medi has grown to be one of the leading private companies providing home-based healthcare services in Finland.

Maritel Kurittu

Founder, Chairman of the Board

Maritel was born in the Philippines in 1968, and moved to Finland in the beginning of the 90’s. She has an English teacher’s degree, and worked as an English teacher for a while while preparing for studies in nursing.

After moving to Finland, Maritel started her nursing studies in Omnia College in Espoo. She graduated in 1998. Her thesis work was focused on home nursing.

Maritel has worked with several healthcare providers in Finland and the UK. She is the driving force behind Koti-Medi Oy, building it from a vision of better healthcare at home to a thriving business that puts the needs of the patients first.

Saija Hemming

Head of operations

Saija is Koti-Medi’s office manager in charge of the daily business needs of Koti-Medi. Aside from keeping the daily operations running, Saija also occasionally does nursing work with Koti-Medi’s clients.

Saija has graduated as a practical nurse in 1996, and has worked with the City Of Helsinkiäs Social Services and Health Care Division in 1997-2006.
